Happy birthday to us!

Ohma Turns One

Yayyyy, we did it! We survived our first year of microphoning!

This year has been a journey of hands-on learning, transforming each challenge into an opportunity to refine our craft.

We've converted our passion into our narrative, developing and building microphones that are not merely tools but extensions of our voices.

Here's a look back at our favorite moments from our first year.

Ohma Turns One

Live with Janelle MonĂĄe at LA Pride

The ACLU commissioned us to create an ombre Trans microphone. This exquisite piece was crafted for Janelle Monáe's performance at LA Pride, broadcast live on television – on a moving float! As a queer-owned company, participating in our queer community alongside one of our non-binary icons was a mind-warping experience. We couldn't be more proud to have a hand in amplifying the voices of the LGBTQ+ community.

We've received so many amazing messages from artists, musicians, and sound people in the LGBTQ+ community, thanking us for bringing more representation to the audio world. It's been truly incredible to receive this kind of recognition and support for our work. We understand the power of representation and visibility, especially for marginalized communities. That's why we are committed to using our platform to amplify diverse voices and promote inclusivity in the audio industry.

Ya'll love your colors

We knew that our first year would include a lot of experimentation, including learning about who our customers are and what they like. Figuring out which microphones to stock has been a wild ride.

Appreciation to all our talented friends

Ohma the band

In Ohma’s first year, we launched our Listening Library on YouTube, showcasing videos of countless instruments recorded with every variant of our microphones. We’re incredibly grateful to have featured some of our favorite artists in our performance video series, highlighting their talent and the unique sound of Ohma mics.

A heartfelt thanks from the Ohma Crew

We want our customers to be able to customize their microphones in whichever way they see fit. That’s why we offer swappable microphone screens, allowing users to shift through different sounds and appearances using a single microphone body. Each screen not only presents a different striking design but also changes the frequency response of the microphone. We’ve found that this type of customization allows our customers to become “chameleons”, transforming their microphones to fit whatever setting or situation they are in. As someone who identifies as non-binary, the rewarding sense of fluidity the Ohma microphone offers is something I take tremendous joy in. I'm honored to be able to share this feeling with our customers.

Happy birthday Ohma
